I am a foodie and storyteller based in San Francisco, CA. Over the past 15 years, I’ve done it all — worked for a big agency, a boutique agency, and I’ve been on the client-side, managing PR in-house at Williams-Sonoma. Thanks to all of my experiences, I know that clients want to work with someone who is collaborative, creative, strategic, well-connected with national media and major food influencers — and who is also downright scrappy and can deliver great results. I’m about partnering closely with clients, aligning on goals and then executing — making sure there are no crumbs left on the table. I’m always hungry to tell great stories.

SHANNON GOMES is the founding principal of Good Food PR. A creative and enthusiastic storyteller based in San Francisco, Shannon has more than 15 years of marketing and PR experience in the consumer food category with expertise in CPG food brands and food commodity boards.

A native Californian from Sonoma County wine country, Shannon approaches each client’s communication objective in a collaborative and strategic manner. Over her many years working with the food media, Shannon has built, and maintains, a very strong network with the media and national food influencers, including chefs and registered dietitians. Shannon works tirelessly to provide great results for her clients and has successfully executed countless product launches, announcements and media events – helping clients rise above the marketplace noise in unique and compelling ways.

Prior to founding Good Food PR, Shannon led the consumer food practice at Highwire PR, working with clients such as the California Strawberry Commission, Kitchit, Brioche Pasquier and Eat Club. Prior to Highwire, Shannon was the public relations manager at Williams-Sonoma, leading national and international PR activities for the brand, as well as acting as a company spokesperson. While at Williams-Sonoma, Shannon was instrumental in successfully launching Agrarian, a new line focused on homegrown and homemade products for the kitchen and garden. Shannon also re-launched the Williams-Sonoma Home line, while representing all 20,000 plus Williams-Sonoma kitchen/lifestyle products and securing coverage in top-tier publications. Prior to Williams-Sonoma, Shannon was an Account Supervisor at Ketchum in San Francisco, focused on clients such as the California Strawberry Commission, National Honey Board, Haagen-Dazs and Seeds of Change. Shannon began her career in New York working at the brand agency, nickandpaul, inc.

Shannon sits on the Communications Committee for the Food Craft Institute based in Oakland, CA.  She is also a member of the San Francisco Professional Food Society.

Shannon is a graduate of UCLA and lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children.
